MineshireAlpha

AlphaVersion 26.1027.2 · October 27, 2026

Download Mineshire.

It’s a free Windows app. Run one installer and Mineshire grabs Java, downloads the server and keeps everything in one window.

Download for Windows

New in 26.1027.2

  • Closing the window now keeps Mineshire running in the background, so your servers keep going. You can turn this off in Settings.
  • A new icon in the notification area opens Mineshire, starts and stops your servers, and quits it. Its dot shows what your servers are doing.
  • Mineshire can now start with Windows, hidden in the notification area. It stays off until you switch it on in Settings.

If Windows shows a blue warning

Mineshire is still new, so Windows might say “Windows protected your PC” the first time you run the installer. The installer has no publisher certificate yet, which is why.

  1. 1Choose More info
  2. 2Choose Run anyway

Updates inside the app are checked against Mineshire’s own signature before they install.

From download to your first server

Three steps, and no jar files to hunt for.

  1. 1

    Download the installer

Press the button at the top. You get one file, Mineshire-setup.exe.

  2. 2

    Run it

Follow the installer. If Windows shows its blue warning, choose More info and then Run anyway.

  3. 3

    Create your first server

Open Mineshire and press Create server. Pick the software and a version; Mineshire fetches Java and the server files for you.

Already have a server? Bring it along.

Point Mineshire at the folder, or at a zip file, of a server you already run. It reads the settings it can find, like the port, the player limit and the Minecraft version, and asks you about whatever it can’t tell.

  • Your original files are only read, never changed or removed.
  • A folder or a zip file, a backup or a download, both work.
  • Starting a new server instead? You can add a world, plugins, mods or data packs while you set it up.

What you get

These are real screens from the app. The servers and players in them are samples.

Play with friends

Friends on your Wi-Fi can join straight away. For everyone else, turn on a tunnel and you get an address that works from anywhere, with no router settings. It runs through playit.gg, and Mineshire only downloads its small program after you say yes.

Console

Colored output you can search and filter, plus old logs and crash reports. If something breaks, share the log in a click and go ask for help.

Players

Who’s online right now? Make someone an operator, edit the whitelist, kick or ban (it makes you type a reason, which future you will appreciate).

Plugins and mods

Search Modrinth from inside the app and install with a click. Anything the plugin needs comes along, and you’ll see when an update’s out.

Backups and worlds

Back up by hand or on a schedule. Worlds get their own tab.

Your servers stay on your computer.

Mineshire has no analytics and no telemetry, and you can use it without an account.

Stays on your PC

  • Your servers and worlds
  • Backups and console logs
  • Settings and the files you add

Goes online only when you use it

  • Server software, Java and add-ons come from their own download sites
  • A tunnel runs through playit.gg once you switch it on
  • A console log is uploaded only when you press Share
  • Signing in puts the names and versions of your servers on your account
