Your own Minecraft server,
without the headache.
Mineshire sets the server up on your own PC and gives you one window to run it from. Play on your own or let friends hop in. Got a question or an idea? Come say hi on the Discord.
Pick the software
Mineshire can install all of these. Version lists come straight from each project’s own website, so you never get a stale copy.

Plugins
Paper
A Spigot fork with performance fixes. Runs Bukkit, Spigot and Paper plugins.
Change gameplay with plugins. Players join with an unmodified game.
Alphabetical, on purpose. We are not ranking them.
What is in the app
These are real screens, straight from the app. The servers and players in them are just samples.
How it goes
You don’t need to know what a jar file is.
Come and say hi
Ask for help, show off a world, or tell us what’s missing. Mineshire gets shaped by what people run into.
Coming soon on other platforms.
Quick answers
Is it free?
Yes. It runs on your own PC, so there’s no server bill and nothing to rent.
Do I have to install Java?
No. Mineshire downloads a Temurin build from Adoptium for whichever Java your Minecraft version needs, and servers that need the same version share one copy.
Can friends outside my house join?
Yes. Switch on a tunnel in the Network tab and you get an address that works from anywhere, with no router settings involved. It runs through playit.gg, and Mineshire fetches their program (about 5 MB) only after you agree. Share the address with people you trust.
How much memory can a server get?
Up to 75% of your computer’s RAM. Mineshire starts warning you past 50%, and it simply won’t let you pick more than 75%.
What if a server crashes?
With “Restart if it crashes” on, Mineshire starts it again, up to three times in ten minutes. After that it gives up.
Where are my files?
Each server gets its own folder under %APPDATA%\.mineshire\servers on Windows. The Java versions Mineshire downloads sit beside them in a java folder.
Which software should I pick?
We won’t rank them. Want mods? Pick a mod loader. Want plugins? Pick a plugin server. Want neither? Vanilla. Friends on phones or consoles need Bedrock.
What does it run on?
Windows, and nothing else yet. It hasn’t been tested anywhere else, so we won’t promise more.
What does it send over the internet?
Only what it needs: the download pages for server software, Modrinth for plugins, playit.gg if you turn on a tunnel, and little things like player faces. Console logs leave your PC only if you press Share. Pictures you add get checked locally.
Is this from Mojang?
Nope. It’s an independent project, not affiliated with Mojang or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang.
